Here you find information about two common problems, acne and failing eyesight.

Eyesight problems are common but many of them can be solved. The standard solution in most cases is glasses or contact lenses. But nowadays lasers can be used as well. If you don’t want to use laser or pay for the laser treatment, you can find out what you can do to improve your eyesight naturally under the Eyesight Problems category.

Acne is the most common skin disorder.  Actually, acne is a disease called seborrhea or seborrheic dermatitis. It occurs when the sebaceous glands, under your skin, become contaminated with oily toxic matter, such as dirt, dead skin or bacteria. Acne can affect anyone from teenagers to people in their older years, and can be caused by many factors.

Acne can be found in many forms. Just to mention the most common forms: Papules, which are usually characterized by small pink bumps, painful to the touch; Pustules or pimples, pus filled lesions that can be red, Nodules which are lesions lodged deep within the skin and finally Cysts, possibly the most painful form of the disorder, are usually responsible for scarring.

Since acne is a common problem, a lot of myths exist. You may have heard that acne is caused by not washing your face or not scrubbing it hard enough. Although you need to wash your face regularly, washing your face more than twice a day may strip the face of its natural oils, making it dry. And too much scrubbing may cause inflammations.
Another myth is that improper diet can cause acne, especially oily food such as French fries or chocolate. But scientific studies have not discovered any connection between acne and diet. Of course, a healthy diet is important but there is no direct connection between your eating habits and acne.

Blackheads are one of the few types of acne that may be caused by skin hygiene and will never go away on their own. Cleaning your face regularly will prevent most blackheads altogether. They are caused by follicles that have a wider opening than normal. These openings fill with oil and dead cells that have undergone a chemical reaction that caused the oxidation of melanin, which causes the black coloration. To prevent them from forming, it is necessary to consistently wash your face once or twice a day with a mild soap to get rid of the excess oil and dead cells.
